WIN-WIN
Every sustainable relationship, personal and professional, must be based on win-win for all parties. We invest in creating wins for all stakeholders in AmeriLux: employees, inves- tors, customers, vendors, and the community. We don’t create “win-lose” scenarios and we don’t accept “lose-win” situations. We culti- vate and nurture long-term, strategic partner- ships with those who are like-minded, build- ing mutually profitable business that results in the synergis-tic formula: ‘1+1=3’!
MAKE A PLAY!
“The only people that have never made a mistake are people that have never done anything.” We are predisposed to take action, because failure to make a decision gives all control away to outside forces. We take control of our individual and collective future by engaging in meaningful action, accepting that we will make some mistakes along the way. We believe the only true failure is a failure to learn from mistakes and improve.
DON’T JUDGE PEOPLE ON THEIR WORST MOMENTS
We value, respect, and honor the dignity of ALL who come in contact with us. In the pursuit of excellence, we never lose our human compassion. We look for the overall pattern of good in people, and encourage people to succeed by playing to their natural strengths. We believe in human potential, and invest in helping people grow into the best version of themselves.
DON’T CONFUSE ACTIVITY WITH RESULTS
We don’t complain or blame when problems arise, but focus on effective solutions. When evaluating decisions and outcomes, we continually ask: “Is it effective?” We prioritize things that contribute positively to a “win,” and avoid things that are neutral or negative. We measure the usefulness of our activity by the meaningful results we produce.
CONFLICT IS A GOOD THING
We value diverse thinking and speak openly with each other. We don’t keep a false peace by avoiding difficult conversations, but speak our truth kindly. We intentionally wrestle with ideas to find the best way to “do the right things” and “do things right.” We hold all stakeholders into decisions that concern them, and ensure every voice is heard.
COMMUNICATION IS OUR CURRENCY
We prioritize face-to-face interaction over electronic communication in a world going the other way. We seek deeper, more profound connections that build authentic relationships. We look to create maximum value in our daily exchanges with one another through presence of mind and body.
CONSIDER IT DONE
We cultivate a solution-oriented, “can do” attitude. We are consistent and reliable in following through with commitments. We hire, give recognition to, and promote those who operate with a “YES” mentality. Our default question is “How can we do it?” rather than focusing on why an Idea won’t work or how difficult it may be. We favor pragmatism over philosophizing. “Let’s boil The abstract down to the concrete.”
WE DON'T DRINK OUR OWN KOOL-AID
We have the audacity to expect success but we make a conscious effort to handle it with humility. We remember that our stakeholders determine whether we are successful. We make an effort to avoid false paradigms and remain open-minded. “It’s not what you don’t know that limits you, it’s what you do know that isn’t so." We acknowledge that others help produce our wins, both inside and outside the company, and express our gratitude to them.
IS THIS A GREAT COUNTRY...OR WHAT?!
We celebrate our freedom and opportunity, and look to the future with optimism. We believe in the power of happiness and positivity to produce outstanding results. We are intentional about cultivating creativity and innovation through optimistic, positive thinking.
WE'LL BE EVEN BETTER TOMORROW
We do the basics really, really well as a first priority, but we aren’t comfortable with the status quo. We are always learning in the service of winning. We challenge ourselves to continuously pursue the next step in growth, personally and professionally. We don’t settle for today’s success, but use the magic of momentum to keep building a more successful tomorrow. “It’s amazing what’s possible when you don’t know what’s impossible.”
Kurt Voss
Chief Executive Officer
Kurt Voss is the owner and CEO of AmeriLux International, a value-adding distributor of various products used in building and construction applications, including polycarbonate sheet products and PVC liner panels. Kurt oversees operations at the company’s corporate headquarters located in De Pere, Wisconsin. He has been instrumental in initiating leading-edge practices in leadership principles, employee engagement, and personnel development.
Started with nothing more than a vision and a pioneering spirit, AmeriLux International was formed in 2004 in a small warehouse in the East De Pere Industrial Park. Today, the company has grown to operate nearly 225,000 square feet of production and fabrication space and employs more than 130 people. Over the years, AmeriLux has started two additional companies: AmeriLux Transportation, a full-service trucking company, and AmeriLux Logistics, a freight brokerage firm with access to a network of dependable carriers. In 2013, AmeriLux International was honored with the small business Growth Award from the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Building upon its existing portfolio of quality products and services, AmeriLux International acquired Shape Products in August of 2020. Shape Products, located in Menomonie, Wisconsin, is a leading manufacturer of standard window wells, egress window wells, and window well covers. The acquisition will add to AmeriLux’s focus on providing its customers with creative and cost-effective solutions customized for each unique opportunity.
Extensively involved in the greater Green Bay community, Kurt is an active member of his local church and a frequently invited guest speaker on business and leadership. Kurt currently serves on the Board of Trustees at St. Norbert College, the Board of Advisors at the Donald J. Schneider School of Business and Economics, the Community Advisory Board for the Medical College of Wisconsin – Green Bay, is Chair of the Board of Directors for the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, Current member and Past President of the Board of Directors for the Green Bay Country Club, and is current member and Past Chair of the Board for Partners in Education at the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce. In addition, AmeriLux is a Limited Partner in Titletown Tech, a local Venture Fund led by Microsoft and the Green Bay Packers.
Kurt’s entrepreneurial spirit, community investment, and innovative leadership have been recognized with multiple awards. In 2016, AmeriLux International received the Manufacturing Award of Distinction for Community Support and Involvement. That same year, TEC Midwest honored Kurt with Wisconsin’s Inspirational Leader of the Year Award. In 2017, the Green Bay Chamber recognized the significant positive impacts Kurt has made on the community and those around him, honoring him with the Business Person of the Year Award at its annual Business Recognition Luncheon.
Perhaps Kurt’s most meaningful non-business accomplishment was to conceive of, raise the funds for, and oversee a $2.8M restoration project of a 130-year-old church on the St. Norbert College Campus in memory of his daughter, Cassie. This beautifully renovated historical building is now called the Cassandra Voss Center and houses the Women’s and Gender Studies Academic Discipline and the Men’s Initiative, as well as hosts a variety of college and community events and programs.

What do you like about working for the AmeriLux Family of Companies? Two things I think set us apart are culture and growth. I get to work with great people that remind me every day that work can, and should, be fun. We spend a lot of time working on culture and we are intentional about figuring out how to fulfill every employee more each day. In turn, this creates an even better culture. In my experience, companies that have big goals often lose sight of their culture or are at least are not intentional about it. At AmeriLux, we believe we are successful, because of our culture – it’s not merely a byproduct.
What are your top 3 favorite podcasts/books? I read the Wall Street Journal every day. I’m fascinated with trends happening in the world and think they do a great job pointing out some thought-provoking content about what is happening in the world. That is also why I enjoy listening to the The Future of Everything podcast. Other than that, I love listening to people’s real stories – whether that’s in a book, podcast, show, or movie.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Spending time with my wife Hillary, our sons Gordon and Max, and our dog Wrigley. We enjoy getting outside in all seasons of the year: skiing (water and downhill), boating, spending time with extended family ‘up north’, playing tennis, golfing.

He’s passionate about developing his team and supporting team members with growth and learning opportunities that help them reach their potential.
What do you like about working at AmeriLux/Shape? I absolutely love working at AmeriLux and Shape Products. The people are hands-down, my favorite aspect. I left an organization where I had built many friendships over years of challenges, successes, and failures. Coming to AmeriLux and Shape Products my biggest concern was being accepted into a new ‘family’ and I’m happy to say I’ve felt nothing but welcomed.
